A Slow Fashion Year: Henrietta Skirt

$65.00

Meets Saturdays, May 2 and 16 from 1 - 4 PM

This class is part of our series for 2026, a slow fashion year, where we tackle sewing some of the building blocks of our wardrobe. The Henrietta Skirt is a fun twist on the elastic-waisted midi skirt with an added pannier-style gather at the hips to build your sewing skills. If this style isn’t your bag, feel free to prep the pattern for the Peppermint Pocket Skirt!

We’ll spend the first session taking measurements and gathering information about our bodies to inform our sewing practice; this includes the destigmatization of the standard sizing system - this is a very body-supportive class! We’ll then trace our pattern sizes and prepare our fabrics. The second session will be dedicated to sewing slowly and carefully with seam finishes to make our clothing last.

Basic sewing knowledge required (threading your bobbin/machine, straight seams, seam-picking, etc.); we will not be teaching foundational sewing skills. Machines and tools provided. Please print a copy of the digital pattern following the print-shop guidelines so you don’t have to tape pieces. An email will go out in advance of class with information about fabric so you can source what you’d like to use!
