A Slow Fashion Year: Georgia Tee
Meets Sunday, January 11 and January 25 from 1 - 4 PM
This class is the kickoff of a fun new series for 2026: a slow fashion year! Each month we’ll explore a different sewing pattern to reclaim our role in the creation of our wardrobe. The Georgia tee is a smart, boxy top pattern with modifications for a tunic and shift dress. We’ll spend the first session taking measurements and gathering information about our bodies to inform our sewing practice; this includes the destigmatization of the standard sizing system - this is a very body-supportive class! We’ll then trace our pattern sizes and prepare our fabrics. The second session will be dedicated to sewing slowly and carefully with seam finishes to make our clothing last.
Basic sewing knowledge required (threading your bobbin/machine, straight seams, seam-picking, etc.); we will not be teaching foundational sewing skills. Machines and tools provided. Please print a copy of the digital pattern following the print-shop guidelines so you don’t have to tape pieces. An email will go out in advance of class with information about fabric so you can source what you’d like to use!
